:: Our Mission
Our mission is to impact the lives of children mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically.
We believe the horse-human bond is a God-given gift, uniquely suitable to touching the needs of children in a very special way.
We believe that almost all children are at need in these categories of growth and development, and while we feel called to serve the needs of all children.
We are especially committed to children and youth that are struggling from damage and neglect within their lives.
We feel also called to those young people who are having difficulty finding their way and purpose; those trying to find out who they are in a complex, increasingly unnatural world. The lives of children & youth today are filled with problems so far beyond a child’s ability to handle.
Urbanizing cities are slowly losing an avenue, centuries old, of helping kids to heal and teaching them how to deal with problems "bigger than they are” - namely through horses!
Despite the lure of their beauty and power, to a young person, a horse is the epitome of a problem that is too big to handle. Yet, this is what makes working with horses such a unique experience. The horse-human relationship, with all of it’s many gifts and benefits, is being lost to a whole generation due to urbanization and cost. Yet, it can still serve the needs of society in the patient strength of the gentle horse giving itself to the aching heart or searching spirit of any child or teen.

:: Play Bingo!
While Whinnians utilizes many avenues to fund our program, by far our biggest source of funding comes from fund raising bingo games done by the American Old Catholic Church. We host bingo currently on Thursdays and Saturdays at Turn of the Century Bingo in Aurora. Check out our dates and times on our calendar and come play bingo with us to help feed our equine partners!

The kids that really need a horse, can’t afford one!... nor lessons... It costs nearly $5,000/year to keep a horse in oats & shelter in a facility that maintains an indoor arena, so that we can have a year round program - affording more opportunity to more youth. Boarding fees include: veterinary maintenance, horse shoeing, insurance and supplies.
Each horse can be a special friend and wise teacher to a number of kids. How can you help provide and preserve a valuable experience being lost to so many youth... and help heal a heart? By helping us to support our four-legged teachers and friends. The horses in our program are entirely supported by private and corporate donations and grants.
All financial donations are tax-deductible.
